Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ordering, commissioning, receiving, and caring for your artwork.
General
What types of artwork do you offer? I create original abstract canvas artwork, bespoke commissioned pieces, and high‑quality digital prints.
What is the difference between an Original and a Print? Prints are high resolution scans of an Original Artwork which are then printed onto premium paper. An Original Artwork is a piece of artwork that has been hand painted and one of a kind.
Do you take custom commissions? Yes — commissions are a big part of my practice. You can request a custom piece tailored to your space, your palette, and the atmosphere you want to create.
Where are you based? I paint from my studio in Nantwich, UK, and ship artwork worldwide.
Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order? Simply add your chosen artwork or print to your cart and follow the checkout steps.
Purchasing on behalf of a business? If you would like a VAT invoice you can request one by sending us an email at enquiries@lumamaiart.co.uk
Commissioned Artwork
How do commissions work? You share your ideas, colours, and size preferences. I create a concept, and once approved, your artwork begins.
Is the deposit refundable? Deposits are refundable within 48 hours of payment. After that, they become non‑refundable as they cover design time and materials.
Can I request changes during the process? Light adjustments are welcome. Major changes may incur additional fees.
How long does a commission take? Most commissions take 2–6 weeks, depending on size and complexity.
Shipping & Delivery
Do you ship internationally? Yes — I ship worldwide. International orders may be subject to customs fees or import taxes.
How is artwork packaged? All artwork is securely wrapped using protective materials to ensure safe delivery.
How long does shipping take? Delivery times vary by location. UK orders typically arrive within 3–7 working days after dispatch.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return original artwork or prints? Yes — non‑custom items purchased online are eligible for the 14‑day cooling‑off period.
Can I return commissioned artwork? Commissioned artwork is custom-made and cannot be returned unless it arrives damaged.
What happens if I change my mind after I’ve paid a deposit for my commission? All deposits for commissioned and/or bespoke art work are non-refundable, so please take the time to ask as many questions as you need regarding your commission.
Commissioned Artwork (Custom-Made) You may cancel within 48 hours of payment for a full refund of the deposit. After 48 hours, or once work has begun, the deposit becomes non-refundable. If I am unable to complete the commission, you will receive a full refund. If you would like to cancel your order, please contact enquiries@lumamaiart.co.uk within 48 hours of purchasing.
What if my artwork arrives damaged? Please contact me within 48 hours with photos, and I will arrange a replacement or refund.
Product Details & Care
What materials do you use? I work primarily with acrylics, texture mediums, palette knives, and mixed media.
How do I care for my artwork? You will receive a care card with full instructions for preserving your artwork. To clean your piece, gently dust the surface with a dry cloth or soft brush. Avoid moisture and do not use any cleaning products, as acrylic artworks should only be cleaned with light, dry contact.
Will colours look exactly the same as on screen? Colours may vary slightly due to screen settings, but I photograph artwork as accurately as possible.
Digital Prints
What sizes are available? Print sizes vary depending on the artwork. Options are listed on each product page.
Are prints framed? Prints are sold unframed unless stated otherwise.
Can prints be returned? Yes — prints qualify for the 14‑day cooling‑off period if returned in original condition.
